Drake Bell’s estranged wife Janet Von Schmeling goes Instagram-official with new boyfriend – months after troubled ex was seen huffing balloons in his car

The estranged wife of disgraced Nickelodeon star Drake Bell has revealed she has had a new man in her life for just five months when he was seen hoisting balloons into his car.

Janet Von Schmeling shared a selfie with her new boyfriend on Instagram as she commemorated “National Boyfriend Day” on Tuesday, just five months after filing for divorce from the 37-year-old former Nickelodeon star.

The 28-year-old’s new man was revealed to me: entrepreneur Jim Perez, founder of the Self Made Club, a community of ‘self-made’ people where they all celebrate success.

Janet – who shares two-year-old son Wyatt Bell with the child actor – wore an LBD in the selfie along with blush heels as she showed off a small Louis Vuitton monogrammed bag designed by Takashi Murakami.

Jim looked handsome in a classic black suit with a crisp white shirt, black tie and shoes.

In April, Janet’s troubled ex Drake appeared to be breathing from a balloon again as he was spotted for the first time since being reported missing.

Bell was pictured sitting in the front seat of his car in Los Angeles on Tuesday, April 25, with the tip of the balloon in his mouth. He appeared to have a jerry can in the car and was wearing a black cap and a matching T-shirt.

It is unclear what substance was in the balloons.

It comes just months after Bell was spotted sucking on inflated balloons in his car outside a Los Angeles smoke shop while his son sat in the backseat. The incident occurred while Bell was serving a two-year probation for endangering the welfare of a girl when she was just 15.

In early April, Bell went missing in South Florida after reportedly threatening to commit suicide. He was later found unharmed.

That weekend, Bell called out online trolls for damaging his mental health in a series of new tweets, in which he vehemently denied being a “paedophile.”

Nearly two years after pleading guilty to child endangerment charges involving a girl who met him online and attended one of his concerts in Ohio when she was 15, the actor defended himself against false accusations.

After a Twitter user wrote a message urging others not to ‘forget he’s a paedo’, the father-of-one replied: ‘Do some research. This is what I have to live with every day. They’re literally going to kill me.’

“There’s blood on their hands,” he fired, referring to the strain unsubstantiated claims are having on his well-being amid his divorce from estranged wife Janet Von Schmeling.

In a separate tweet, Bell said he was surprised “how mean people here are to people who are clearly dealing with mental health issues.”

“It’s unreal how cruel y’all can be,” he complained, before angrily responding to another post calling him a “pedo.”

“I found out my wife filed for divorce from TMZ,” Bell tweeted in the early hours of Friday. He then posted a link to a YouTube clip of his new song, Going Away.

While his fans told him not to subject himself to reading hateful messages, Bell appeared to reach a boiling point when he told a troll to “hurry up” while swearing “to God” that he was not a “paedophile.”

His tweets were posted just one day before he claimed on Twitter that he learned his wife had filed for divorce by reading about it online.

“I know exactly what you’re going to do, despite all the things you said that weren’t true. When will everyone get an idea, we’re not the same,” Bell sang in the video. It is unclear what the inspiration for the song was.

Von Schmeling said in court filings that she and the actor initially separated in September 2022.

In the Balance: Janet and Drake share two-year-old son Wyatt Bell

Schmeling said the reason behind the breakup after four years of marriage is irreconcilable differences, the outlet reported.

The couple are parents to two-year-old son Wyatt Bell, of whom Von Schmeling is seeking primary legal and physical custody.

Von Schmeling said she is open to Bell having visitation from their son as part of a divorce agreement.

The news came a week after the actor took to Twitter on April 13 to express his shock at widespread news that his family had reported he was missing, and officials had issued an alert saying he was missing and in danger.

“You leave your phone in the car and don’t answer it all night, and this?” Bell wrote on Twitter, with a face with accompanying tears of joy emoji.

The Newport Beach, California-born artist was reported missing by family before being found by police in Florida around 1:00 PM ET on April 13.

The Nickelodeon alum ’caused concern’ among his family before he was reported missing — and found hours later by police, a source said American weekly.

The source said: ‘There has been some communication with family members which has caused concern, so they are concerned about him and are looking for him.’

The insider said some of his family members didn’t even know he was in Florida, where his estranged wife Von Schemling lives with their young son.
