Dorit Kemsley opened up about her son Jagger’s “difficult” battle with a septic hip that led to multiple surgeries and a lengthy hospital stay.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 48, got to work on it Instagram to share photos of herself, 10-year-old son Jagger, daughter Phoenix and estranged husband Paul dressed as The Flintstones for Halloween while updating her 1.6 million followers on her son’s medical condition.
She admitted that the past month had been “very difficult for our family.”
“Jagger had two operations in less than a week for his septic hip, had to stay in hospital for almost two weeks, and just when we thought it was all over, we had a setback this week.”
According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, the condition – also known as septic arthritis – is an infection of joint fluid and tissue that spreads through the bloodstream. It is most common in children and is treated by administering antibiotics and draining excess fluid.

The doting mother of two continued: ‘Thankfully this incredibly brave, courageous little boy is a fighter (like Rocky, as he would say) and we were able to enjoy Halloween the way he wanted to. That made this Halloween extra special for all of us.”
And she praised her son’s nurses and doctors at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for caring for his health and well-being.
“Grateful to @cedarssinai, all the doctors and nurses involved and for all the love and support we have received from so many,” she said.
Dorit also wrote a note to Jagger for his resilience and “strength” during his health battle.
“I am in awe and so proud of our little munchkin, his strength, positive attitude and can do attitude that he has maintained through everything he has been through. Feeling blessed and hopeful that better days lie ahead. Yabadaba dooo from the Flintstones! ,” she finished.
Last month, Dorit and Paul — who split months ago but are still legally married — shared photos of their son in a wheelchair in the hospital, along with a message informing fans of his condition after he complained of feeling ” felt unwell.
In a separate post, Paul, 57, wrote: ‘Spent the last few days 24/7 with Jagger even though we are in hospital, it is such a gift to have the time to listen to this little fella being honest wise beyond his years.
‘@doritkemsley is an incredibly brilliant mother, and I’m happy to let you all know that Jagger is now on the other side and we’re taking him home tomorrow. Dorit and I are so grateful for all the well-wishers…I know I’m totally biased but this boy has nothing but kindness and love in his heart…I don’t think you can teach that…it’s just him .”

The reality star’s Halloween post was a hit with her followers, who empathized with the young Jagger and racked up more than 41,000 likes and hundreds of comments from supportive fans.
‘So glad to hear Jaggy is hanging in there! Ate boy. Sending lots of love,” one user wrote.
Another praised their costumes: ‘Sending the biggest hugs and strength to big guy Jaggs!! What a brave guy!! I love this theme!!’
Dorit and Paul, also known as ‘PK’, tied the knot in March 2015. They publicly broke up in May this year.
