President-elect Donald Trump returned to the White House on Wednesday to meet with President Joe Biden as they prepare for the peaceful transition of power.
‘Welcome. Welcome back,” Biden told Trump, referring to the “president-elect” and the “former president,” pledging to work with his political rival for a smooth transition of power.
The two leaders met in front of a roaring fire in the Oval Office, exchanging pleasantries.
After the pair shook hands, Biden grinned broadly after members of the press at the meeting began shouting questions while Trump briefly commented on the commotion.
It was Biden’s broad smile during the meeting that sparked many reactions on social media.
And some users even suggest that the president’s joy at the meeting could have a deeper meaning.

“Joe Biden shares the same smile that most of AMERICA now has,” combat veteran and former Republican candidate for Congress Sean Parnell wrote on X.
“Everyone is curious about Trump’s return to the White House,” he continued.
Other users began putting forward the far-fetched idea that Biden’s good fortune is proof that he actually secretly voted for his political nemesis.
“Biden totally voted for Trump,” Nicole Arbor agreed on X, sharing a laughing emoji.
“Biden looks so happy,” Jaimee Michell agreed on X.com, sharing a laughing emoji. “This man absolutely voted for Trump.”

Afshine Emrani agreed.
‘I’m telling you. Biden and his family voted for Trump,” he wrote.
Social media user “Johnny maga” compared Biden’s broad smile to a more solemn photo of Biden and Harris from earlier this week at an event celebrating Veterans Day.
“Biden definitely voted for Trump,” “borovik” wrote on social media. “Look how happy he looks.”

“No one can convince me that Biden did not vote for Trump,” Alexandra Lains agreed.
Biden found himself in the unusual position of greeting the man who came before him and will replace him in the White House.
Trump won in a landslide on November 5, capturing the popular vote and the Electoral College and capturing the seven key swing states.
Trump thanked Biden and struck a noticeably different tone than during the campaign.
“Politics are tough,” the president-elect said. ‘In many cases it is not a beautiful world, but today it is a beautiful world.’
Trump said of the transition process: “It’s going to be as smooth as possible and I really appreciate that, Joe.”
Melania Trump was not with her husband. But first lady Jill Biden joined President Biden in greeting Trump upon his arrival at the White House.
She gave the president-elect a handwritten letter of congratulations for Melania, which also expressed her team’s willingness to help with the transition.
