Dietmar Hamann has tried to reignite his rivalry with Jurgen Klopp by telling the hapless Liverpool boss to “apologize” for his recent antics at the press conference.
Klopp cut an aggravated figure following Liverpool’s recent 3-0 thrashing by relegation-threatened Wolves at the weekend that saw the Reds slip to 10th in the Premier League standings.
The 55-year-old refused to answer The Athletic’s James Pearce’s question at the post-match press conference in Molineux.
Hamann has endured previous conflicts with Klopp in the past and has now raised issues with his compatriot’s behavior in his role as Liverpool boss.
hamann said talk sport: ‘I found it very strange and mean and what you have to realize is that James Pearce and his family are bombarded with abusive messages since that incident because Klopp didn’t answer a question.
Jurgen Klopp has been told to apologize for his behavior following Liverpool’s 3-0 thrashing of Wolverhampton at the weekend.
Former Reds midfielder Dietmar Hamann is not happy with Klopp’s treatment of a journalist at his post-match news conference.
Klopp refused to answer a simple question about the reason for Liverpool’s poor start
“It was a perfectly good question to ask him and I think the least James deserves is an apology.” Liverpool is a club that is based on respect and I think someone has to say it [Klopp] ‘This is Liverpool Football Club and you can’t do this.
“We have anti-bullying campaigns and you can’t allow the Liverpool manager to behave the way he did.
I feel like no one in the club has the bottle to tell them, which I think they should do. The way things are at the moment, these things don’t help him and they certainly don’t help the club, which is above all else.
“You can’t have a situation where the manager disrespects a highly respected journalist like he did to James Pearce.”
Klopp is obviously not happy with his team’s disastrous run of results in both the Premier League and cup competitions.
Having challenged on all fronts last season, lifting the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup, Liverpool now sit mid-table in the English top flight and 11 points below the Champions League places.
The controversy started when Pearce asked the Champions League and Premier League winning manager how he prepared his players for matches.

Liverpool are on one of their worst runs in recent memory after disastrous defeats against Brighton and Wolves.
Responding to Pearce’s question, Klopp said: “It’s very difficult to talk to you if I’m 100 per cent honest. I would prefer not to do that.
‘You know why, because of all the things you wrote. So if anyone else wanted to ask that question, I’ll answer it.’
