David Warner has revealed why he didn’t open up about his loving wife Candice and their children after their 100th Test match.

“There will be a time and a place for that, but I knew the cameras were on and I said, ‘Stop this, I can’t do that,'” he added.

David has said that he owes his career to Candice, who has been a constant source of support.

He said that she was a guiding light during the crossroads of his early career.

The couple are loving parents to their three daughters: Ivy Mae, Isla Rose, and Indi Rae.

As the left-hander was overcome with emotion and celebrated his century with a customary jumping up and blowing a kiss to his family, Candice was seen holding back tears as she applauded her husband.

With daughters Ivy Mae, Isla Rose, and Indi Rae in tow, Candice looked like a public relations professional as she immediately conducted interviews with both stations.

He indicated that the off-field drama surrounding Warner’s failed attempt to overturn a leadership ban had had a major impact on both him and the family, and dropped a bombshell apparently criticizing the game’s governing body, Cricket Australia, a once again.

‘Everyone says he (Warner) is too old and should retire. To firstly hit the 8000 Test run is a huge milestone, then get a Test century; Hopefully now people will back off a bit,” he told 7 Cricket host Mel McLaughlin.

‘It hasn’t been an easy summer with the bat, plus behind the scenes he hasn’t really gotten a lot of support where it’s needed.

“It all comes down to the captaincy stuff if we’re talking about it, it’s dragged on and it shouldn’t have.

‘This is going to mean a lot… no one would have thought it would make it. There were so many skeptics along the way,” Candice said of the criticism that has been leveled at Warner throughout its roller coaster career.
