David Beckham took his love of exotic cuisine to another level on Monday during a trip to one of his favorite cities abroad.
The former Manchester United and England midfielder is currently in Mexico City, where he chose to embrace one of the city’s age-old culinary traditions while visiting a local food stall.
Taking to Instagram, Beckham, 47, shared photos of freshly prepared guacamole, rice pudding, salsa and salad, along with a bowl of possibly less appetizing bugs.

Dead bugs, commonly added to sauces and cocktails, seemed to be mixed up and served as a less than appetizing option to an otherwise appealing collection of traditional dishes.
Beckham had previously admitted he was delighted to be back in Mexico City, the world’s most populous capital, after sharing a selfie from his hotel balcony.
The former soccer player is visiting the city after serving as best man at the Miami wedding of his close friend Marc Anthony, who exchanged vows with former Miss Universe Nadia Ferreira on Saturday.

And his enthusiasm seems to have rubbed off on his eldest son, whose regular ‘Cookin’ with Brooklyn’ Instagram updates have proven popular with fans, though not always for entirely positive reasons.
The aspiring chef was recently criticized for being ‘out of touch’ when he used a luxurious truffle as an ingredient to prepare a tagliatelle in his latest cooking tutorial.
The 23-year-old son of David and Victoria Beckham has been doing everything he can to launch a career in the kitchen and often takes to social media to showcase his culinary creations.
And the budding chef took to Instagram on Friday to share his latest cooking tutorial video, in which he watched him make a creamy truffle tagliatelle.

That’ll do: Fresh salsa and salad were among the healthy treats on offer during Beckham’s latest outing in Mexico City.
Commenting on her post, one person said: “I wish I could afford the ‘nothing too many truffles’ idea.”
Another raged: “We are in a Brooklyn cost of living crisis.”
A third wrote: ‘He needs to reach his audience. Most people can’t afford truffles. I have worked as a chef, very basic what he is doing. I would love to see him work in a restaurant kitchen and see how he would manage.
While a fourth added: “These people live in a different world, most people can barely afford to eat right now and this kid is babbling about truffle.”
Based on 2021 estimates, black winter truffles average $20.49 an ounce, while burgundy black truffles cost $24.93 an ounce and summer black truffles cost $22.57 an ounce. It is not known what type of truffle Brooklyn used.
