The Kyle and Jackie O marketing tactic that earned a spray from former colleague-turned rival Lauren Phillips: ‘It’s pretty poor form’
Lauren Phillips didn’t hold back when she criticized her former employer KIIS FM for bagging an event she hosted with her radio co-star Jase Hawkins.
The new Nova FM presenters hosted a cash giveaway in a Melbourne park on Thursday morning when a KIIS FM Kyle and Jackie O Show branded bus appeared.
In November, Lauren, 42, and Jase were fired from KIIS to make way for The Kyle and Jackie O Show‘s Melbourne launch on Monday.
An upset Lauren revealed on her breakfast show that she was not happy to see an attempt by a KIIS FM bus to enter the Nova event.
“It’s kind of bad form to come to our event. They fired us, we didn’t do anything to them. They got rid of us and told us we weren’t good enough,” Lauren began.

“And now they’re coming to where we are, with the people who love and listen to our show. And trying to sabotage is a bit tasteless.”
Jase then added that the KIIS FM bus was definitely ‘not invited’ to the event and he was shocked to see him there.
‘Some people were not invited, I just want to mention the bus. There’s a giant Kyle and Jackie O bus going through Melbourne at the moment,” he said.

Luckily, apart from the brief appearance by the KIIS bus, the event seemed to go well, with Jase and Lauren giving away prizes to their die-hard fans.
Lauren still seems visibly angry that she and Jase’s contracts with KIIS FM have been terminated to make way for The Kyle and Jackie O Show.
On Monday, Lauren shared a screenshot on Instagram that captured her social media notification feed, showing that KIIS FM recently “liked” a video she posted.
She didn’t hold back as she revealed what she thought of her former employer’s actions: “This feels like an ex-boyfriend sliding into the DMs.”
Jase and Lauren were picked up by Nova in February to compete against their former stablemates Kyle and Jackie in the Melbourne radio market.
