Barstool boss Dave Portnoy has condemned “liar” President Joe Biden for pardoning his son, Hunter Biden, on tax evasion and gun charges. His sentencing is scheduled for later this month.
Portnoy has been a staunch supporter of President-elect and Biden’s political rival, Donald Trump, for years.
His disparaging comments about Biden come after the president insisted several times earlier this year that he would not pardon him. The change of heart also comes seven weeks before the start of Trump’s second term in the Oval Office.
Some Democrats argue that Hunter Biden was targeted for the crimes solely because of his last name and as an attempt to discredit his father’s political acumen.
On the other side of the aisle, Republicans, including Trump himself, have used the pardon as evidence of the need for change in Washington.
“Biden pardoning his son is the most predictable thing ever. He’s a liar,” Portnoy said. “The Democrats are liars. Everyone knows they are liars. Yet somehow they still try to play the moral righteousness card. That’s why they were smoked.’

Portnoy has rejected the move, calling the president a “liar” on social media Monday morning
“Side note: I would have more respect for him if he said that if Trump wins the election, I’m going to pardon my son because I don’t want him to go to jail,” Portnoy continued. ‘I would do the same for my family. The Democrats just think we’re all stupid and that they can lie to our faces all the time without consequences.”
Portnoy doubled down on his stance with a longer video, posted a few hours after he first called the president a liar.
“What the Democrats have done for 12 years is take a moral high ground, which is that we are the righteous party, the truth, honesty, integrity (party). And Trump is a threat to democracy. And he is (Adolf) Hitler and a Nazi and this and that,” Portnoy said. “…They are worse than anything Trump has ever done.”
“It’s the lectures, it’s the Democratic engine that’s right in our faces, pretending to be the morally righteous authority and thinking that the American people are so stupid that we can’t see through it. Blow up the Democratic party.”
There is also a general consensus that Biden acted as any parent in his situation would do. It also comes with the backdrop of the 82-year-old’s resistance to ever using a pardon for his son.
“I believe in the justice system, but as I have struggled with this, I also believe that raw politics has infected this process and led to a miscarriage of justice – and once I made this decision this weekend, there was no point in acting it out set. moving forward,” Biden said in a statement.
“I hope Americans will understand why a father and a president would come to this decision.”
Biden’s pardon covers all crimes committed between January 2014 and the present.
“Does Joe to Hunter’s Pardon five include the J-6 hostages who have been held captive for years now?” Trump said this on social media. ‘What an abuse and miscarriage of justice!’

The pardon comes as Joe Biden is no longer running for public office and a second Trump term
Trump has mentioned plans during his second administration to pardon those arrested and awaiting sentencing over the January 6 insurrection.
The President-elect calls them “hostages” in his social media post, a lie in itself for those who have attacked police officers and more in 2021.
Trump himself incited the insurrection, with many of those arrested wrongly believing that the president-elect had also won the 2020 election despite losing to Biden.
In the 2024 election, Trump defeated Vice President Kamala Harris by about 2.5 million votes.
The political implications of the pardon are unclear, as Biden will not run for public office again. Yet many of Biden’s allies are not leaving politics.
