The Vivienne divorced their husband David Ludford after five and a half years together, MailOnline can reveal.

The RuPaul’s Drag Race star, 30 who recently placed third on Dancing On Ice, has admitted that “life got in the way” of the relationship.

After starting their relationship in 2017, the former couple tied the knot in 2019 exuberant flower ceremony in GAY’s Heaven nightclub London.

In a statement to MailOnline, David and The Vivienne, real name James Lee Williams, explained that they would remain friends.

They shared, “As many may have noticed, David and I have been apart lately. We made the decision to part ways after an amazing 5 and a half years.

“We are still very good friends, but sometimes life gets in the way and people grow apart.

David owns a company that sells wigs for drag queens called Drag Helmet.

While The Vivienne rose to fame in 2019 by winning the first series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, she later returned to compete in the seventh season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars in 2022.

It’s not known when the pair decided to call it quits, with David’s last post mentioning his man in January as he headed out to support them on Dancing On Ice.

But with fewer social media posts and public appearances, fans have been speculating on a breakup in recent weeks.

The glamorous grooms were the first couple to tie the knot at GAY’s Heaven nightclub – after the venue was given permission to hold weddings that same year.

But The Vivienne has had an especially busy 2023 since the start of the new year as a contestant on Dancing On Ice, the show’s first-ever Drag Queen.

And the star won the hearts of both the judges and the audience, taking third place in the show.

Since its appearance, The Vivienne’s profile has improved – with more TV opportunities, including a celebrity version of The Chase.

Before meeting their man and becoming famous on RuPaul’s Drag Race, The Vivienne battled addiction issues.

The star recently shared the story, sharing how they decided to move to Gran Canaria six years ago after becoming addicted to drugs while working the Liverpool club scene.

They revealed to have been hospitalized three times in a month amid drug struggles, adding that medics even feared for their lives.

The Vivienne, whose stage name was inspired by the late designer Vivienne Westwood, said ketamine was their “breakfast, lunch, and dinner” at the height of the addiction.

Adding that moving to Gran Canaria in 2017 and meeting now ex-husband David Ludford changed their lives.
