Dame Judi Dench left flabbergasted after being gifted with a VERY skimpy red thong for Christmas in hilarious video

Dame Judi Dench was outraged after being given a skimpy red thong for Christmas in a hilarious charity campaign video.

In the sweet clip, the legendary actress, 89, could be seen sneaking downstairs to open her presents early on Christmas morning.

However, after the Oscar winner excitedly tears open a small wrapped package, he is stunned to discover a tiny thong inside.

Judi stares at the daring underwear and cannot hide her shock and confusion, before turning to the camera and admitting: ‘Red is not my colour.’

After throwing the spicy thong on the floor, she eagerly opens the next present, but is once again disappointed by the contents.

The James Bond star holds up a pair of roller skates, jokes: “Look, I’m a skater myself” and tosses them into the pile of unwanted gifts.

Finally, to Judi’s surprise and bewilderment, she picks up a bright pink, blinding garbage bag and brush as she stares straight into the camera lens with a look of utter dismay.

At the end of the video, a voiceover from the Belfast star can be heard saying: ‘Why not give a gift that means something this Christmas?’ about photos of delighted children receiving personalized gifts.

The fun clip serves to raise awareness for international disaster relief charity ShelterBox.

The charity specializes in emergency shelter and other essential household items for families whose homes have been damaged or destroyed by disaster, conflict or climate crisis.

People can purchase virtual gifts for affected families, including life-saving items such as shelters, thermal blankets and cooking sets.

ShelterBox currently provides emergency shelter to people in Gaza suffering from the conflict with Israel.

While they are also currently supporting displaced people around the world in countries such as the Philippines, Lebanon, Mozambique, Somalia, Chad, Cameroon and Yemen.

Speaking about the charity, Judi said: ‘That’s what I love about ShelterBox. Ancillary items such as tents, thermal blankets and water filters are tangible. They make a difference.’

She then emphasized the importance of the work they do: “The number of people [120 million] The number of people uprooted from their homes worldwide has never been greater and the need for emergency shelter has never been more urgent.”

Kirsty Alexander, Head of Supporter Engagement at ShelterBox said: “We are incredibly lucky that Dame Judi has supported ShelterBox for many years and has helped us so much in making this little film.

“It was a pleasure to work with her on a project that combines humor with a heartfelt message.”

It comes after Judi cast doubt on the future of her film career amid her battle with age-related macular degeneration of her eyes.

The veteran actress hasn’t appeared on the big screen since 2022’s Allelujah, meaning her appearances in recent years have been limited to documentaries, in which she appears as herself.

And in May she admitted she has no future projects in the pipeline as she struggles with her poor eyesight.

According to the NHS‘Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a common condition that affects the middle part of your vision. It usually first affects people in their 50s and 60s.

When asked if she has plans for more acting jobs, Judi told a journalist at the Chelsea Flower Show: “No, no, I can’t even see it!”

But by the end of 2022, she had refused to give up and insisted she would not retire anytime soon – despite admitting the situation was already ‘bad’ then.

She told Louis Theorux on his BBC show: ‘I don’t want to retire. I’m not doing much at the moment because I can’t see. It’s bad.

“I have a photographic memory, so someone who says to me, ‘This is your line…’, I can do that.”

Around the same time, Judi revealed that while eating with her partner David Mills, he had to cut up her food for her because she couldn’t see it on her plate.

“He cut it up and gave me something on a fork, and that’s how I ate it,” she explained.
