Recovering NFL star Damar Hamlin has spoken publicly for the first time since he went into cardiac arrest during the Buffalo Bills’ Monday night football game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The 24-year-old promised fans there would be ‘hearing from him soon’ and sent a message on Saturday night, speaking publicly for the first time since the terrifying moment on the pitch.
“I’m so grateful to everyone and I know it’s not enough to be grateful,” Hamlin said via his social media channels.

Bills safety Hamlin has been released from the hospital in Buffalo and is continuing his recovery at home.
‘This is just the beginning of the impact I wanted to have in the world and with God’s guidance I will continue to do great and wonderful things.
“I couldn’t do this without your support and love and I can’t wait to continue taking you all on this journey with me.”
The brief full video message that lasted five minutes and 48 seconds was captioned by the Bills safety: “From the heart: sincerely 3.”
Hamlin received CPR in the field and was taken by ambulance to a Cincinnati hospital.
Hamlin shared the full message in a reel on his Instagram page, followed by 1.8 million people, and the Bills also shared the “special message” on Saturday night.
“Now that my brothers have wrapped up a strong winning season while I continue to make a lot of progress in my recovery, I think it’s finally a good time to share a few things,” the thank you clip began.
