Crystal Hefner has issued a cease and desist order to Holly Madison over comments she made on the Girls Next Level podcast last month, claiming they were false and damaging to her reputation.
Crystal, 38, condemned the comments made by Madison, 44, as ‘malicious and deliberately misleading’ and had caused her ‘serious harm’. TMZ reported Tuesday after reviewing court documents in the case.
The Lake Havasu City resident, who was married to Hugh Hefner from 2012 until his death in 2017, said Madison lied about her Podcast from May 12 with Bridget Marquardt.
On the podcast, titled “What We REALLY Think About Crystal’s Book,” Madison and Marquardt welcomed Hefner’s son Marston Hefner as a guest.
During a discussion about Crystal’s book Only Say Good Things: Surviving Playboy and Finding Myself, Madison suggested that Crystal kept Hugh “dosed on damn drugs” in his later years to exploit him financially.

Crystal’s legal team said in the letter that “nothing could be further from the truth” in that regard, as the allegation “is completely false and will not be tolerated.”
“As we understand it, Ms. Hefner was steadfast in her commitment to Mr. Hefner during his final days, ensuring he was cared for and received the best possible medical care,” Crystal’s legal team said.
According to the outlet, Crystal promised in the letter to sue Madison if she made such allegations in the future.
Madison appeared to respond to the legal brief in a statement on her Twitter page on Monday.
“Imagine running a free speech foundation and then sending someone a subpoena to talk,” she wrote, accompanied by a series of laughing emojis.
Madison added in a subsequent tweet, “Your lawyer can’t even find my correct email address” with a clown emoji.
An attorney for Crystal told TMZ in a statement: “Ms. Hefner does not want her name and reputation tarnished by opportunists.
“We stand by the contents of the letter and will fully enforce Ms. Hefner’s rights.”
