The series will see celebrities tackle a never-before-attempted feat – as they must successfully walk 300ft in the air from a London landmark.
Ahead of the show’s premiere, actress Beverly – who is the show’s oldest contestant – said What to watch the heartwarming reason she decided to take on the brave challenge and show her support for a cancer research charity.
She said: “I had cancer when I was 32 – now I’m completely fine. But a dear friend of mine died in my arms a few years ago from cancer, and another is now suffering from bone cancer. I even lost a very young dog to cancer.
“I think when you talk to people, it touches everyone in some way; even if it didn’t touch them personally, it touched someone they love.’
Beverly, who competed on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! In 2020, he continued: “I was told before the show that the training would be in Austria and they would help you with your core strength and heights.
“However, they didn’t say we’d be jumping off bridges!” So now I’ve jumped from bridges and leaned on mountains, but I’m rubbish on that high wire. I’m a brave person, but I’m completely stupid about it.’
The team of celebrities have all been affected by cancer in some form and are hoping to raise a significant amount for Stand Up To Cancer.
Having previously completed a summer training camp in the Austrian Alps, the group was taught by the world’s leading high wire walking experts.
