Three conspiracy theorists involved in the shooting deaths of two young police officers each worked for the Department of Education, and one quit her job at a high school because she was a staunch anti-vaxxer.

Stacey Train was shot dead along with her husband Gareth and brother Nathaniel Train in a dramatic police shooting at their property in Wieambilla, west of Brisbane, at 10:30pm on Monday.

About six hours earlier, the camouflage-clad trio killed young officers Rachel McCrow, 29, and Matthew Arnold, 26, when they went to the house looking for Nathaniel, who was reported missing a year ago.

It can now be revealed that the family were all former employees of the Queensland Department of Education.

Gareth Train resigned from the Department in May 2016, Nathaniel Train resigned from the Department in March 2020 and Stacey Train resigned from the Department in December 2021, a Queensland Government spokesperson confirmed to Daily Mail Australia.

None of them was the subject of any departmental disciplinary proceedings. A former student at Tara Shire State College, where Ms Train worked as head of curriculum and as a teacher’s assistant, told Daily Mail Australia The 45-year-old woman felt she had to quit her job due to the school’s mandatory Covid immunization policy.

It is also understood that Stacey and Gareth had children together, now in their 20s.

Like her husband and brother-in-law, Ms. Train believed in a variety of bogus conspiracy theories, hers centering on concerns about covid vaccines.

The former student said Ms Train was “her own person, but nice” and lived like a recluse, only commuting to the town of Tara, about 45 minutes from her property, to go to work.

Like many people in the Wieambilla area, he heard gunshots on Monday night and was shocked to learn that the shooting happened near his home.

She said it was “disturbing” and was disturbed, but was even more shocked to learn that her former teacher was involved in the incident.

Before the murderous trio moved to Wieambilla, the three owned a four-bedroom house in Millstream, around 150km southwest of Cairns in far north Queensland, before selling it in 2009.

A former Millstream neighbor described the Trains to Daily Mail Australia as “paranoid” and “pushy” people who did not want to attract attention.

The property, owned by Gareth, who talked about preparing his home for an apocalypse, and his wife Stacey was well off the grid, had extensive solar panels and water tanks.

“They just weren’t good people and they showed the potential for this kind of thing even back then,” he said.

“They also had barbed wire, gates and fencing around the property, which is normal for rural properties like these, but they had surveillance cameras and spotlights and things like that which were a bit out of the ordinary back then.”

He said that Stacey and Gareth lived on the property full time and that Nathaniel stayed there on weekends.

“They had children who would now be 20 years old, although they obviously no longer live with their parents,” added the former neighbor.

After selling the Millstream property in 2009, the trio formally changed their home address to the address of Proston State School, where Ms Train worked as headmistress for a short time.

Nathaniel and his father, Ronald Train, had not spoken for 23 years, but he co-owned property with his other son, Gareth.

Outside his home in Toowoomba on Tuesday, the retired pastor told the Chinchilla News: ‘I lost two children.’

“I’m not going to share anything with you, you can speculate and make up all you want,” Train said.

I’ve already had conversations with the police.

It is understood that Officer Rachel McCrow, 29, and Officer Matthew Arnold, 26, arrived in the first vehicle to meet a second car containing Officer Keely Brough and Officer Randall Kirk, both 28, before approaching the property.

McCrow and Arnold then honked their horns to alert the residents of their presence. When there was no movement inside the home, the four officers got out of their cars and jumped over the locked fence.

Seconds later, a hail of bullets rained down on the four officers, believed to have been fired by Nathaniel and Gareth Train and Gareth’s wife, Stacey.

Constance McCrow and Agent Arnold were instantly struck and fell to the ground.

The fourth police officer, Keely Brough, 28, was able to escape to hide in nearby bushes as the gunmen tried to catch her.

The assassins attacked the wounded police officers and shot them dead, at point blank range while stealing their weapons as Mrs Brough ran away.

The terrified officer sent a text to her loved ones telling them she felt her time was almost up. The murderous trio then set the bush on fire in an attempt to get her out.

On Tuesday, Daily Mail Australia revealed that the trains had spent years fortifying the wooden house in a makeshift bunker to try to fend off a long-anticipated police assault.

They had also binged on methamphetamine, with Gareth posting increasingly bizarre conspiracy theories online that claimed the 1996 Port Arthur massacre was a military operation and that Princess Diana was killed as a “blood sacrifice”.

Gareth and Stacy Train had bought the two-bedroom frame house and 110-acre property for $95,000 seven years ago.

A close relative has since told a local that they had set up elaborate defenses and taken it off the grid, installing solar panels, satellite dishes, and septic and rainwater tanks.
