A mother-of-two has sparked heated debate after revealing her bizarre travel hack where she attaches her children to their plane seats with Velcro.
Lisa Flom, from Minneapolis, Minnesotatook to TikTok to share “the best plane travel hack” with her 809,000 followers.
She lightheartedly suggested that parents with children during flights will likely fidget to physically hold their children to their seats to eliminate movement.
But the quirky trick caused a stir in the comments, with viewers left bitterly divided over the practice.

The clip, which has been viewed more than 19.7 million times to date, showed Lisa preparing the plane seat for her toddler on an unknown flight.
The content creator, mother of two daughters aged three and one, started by applying Velcro to the chair before placing the corresponding patches on her daughter’s clothes.
The boy was then safely secured in place and could no longer wander unattended.
Lisa then showed how easy it was to remove both sets of strips at the end of the flight.
But the practice was met with fierce debate.
On the one hand, there were those who called the idea “genius” and added: “I love it – work smarter, not harder people!!!”
A second person commented: ‘My child needs this at mealtimes.’
Another said: ‘Taking notes even though you don’t have children.’

But on the other hand, many decided to look at the idea vaguely.
One person wrote: ‘Until five seconds later my child was using his vocal cords to express his frustration.’
Another commented, “This seems like something that would work initially until the child gets frustrated.”
And a third person added: ‘I felt so bad for it [the kid].’
Other commenters were reminded of a scene from the Walt Disney movie called The Goofy Movie, in which one of the animated characters named Pete used Velcro strips to keep babies still during their professional photo shoots.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration: ‘The safest place for your child under two years of age on a US aircraft is in an approved child safety seat (CRS) or device, not on your lap.
Other commenters were reminded of a scene from the Walt Disney movie called The Goofy Movie, in which one of the animated characters named Pete used Velcro strips to keep babies still during their professional photo shoots.
‘A child safety seat (CRS) is a forward- or rear-facing child safety seat with a hard backrest.
“Your arms are unable to safely hold your child on your lap, especially during unexpected turbulence.”
The site’s travel advisory continued: ‘The FAA strongly urges you to secure your child in an approved CRS or other approved device for the entire duration of the flight.
‘Buying a ticket for your child is the only way to guarantee that you can use a CRS.
“It’s smart and right to make sure everyone in your family arrives safely at your destination.”
According to the National Institutes of Health‘s 2019 study: “Unrestrained lap children are prone to injuries during flight, especially during meal service or turbulence.”
