A police officer was allegedly assaulted while a woman fell ten feet from a window after a brawl in a bar.

Emergency services were called to the Hideaway Kitchen and Bar in Broadbeach, on the Gold Coast, at 9.20pm on Saturday.

They arrived to chaotic scenes and two men and a woman were rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital.

A man in his 40s was in serious condition with head, abdominal and chest injuries, while a man in his 20s was in stable condition with head injuries and lacerations.

The third person, a woman in her 20s, was in a stable condition with suspected spinal cord and chest injuries.

Three people are in hospital, including a woman who fell 10 feet through a window after a wild brawl at a bar on the Gold Coast on Saturday night, which also included assault on a police officer. The scene is depicted

She is reportedly one of several people who went through the 8-by-5-foot window and fell up to 10 feet to the floor.

A 21-year-old man was charged with assaulting a police officer and obstructing police at the scene.

“It is alleged that the 21-year-old Mermaid Waters man kept trying to enter a crime scene before assaulting an officer,” a Queensland Police spokeswoman said.

Police were initially told that one person had fallen through the window, but when officers arrived they found three people injured outside the bar.

“They had a number of injuries and a crime scene has been declared,” the spokeswoman said.

The venue’s owner, Scott Imlach, was “stunned” by the incident, saying there had never been a fight in his seven years of ownership.

When he got a call about it on Saturday night, he initially thought there was a mistake, that it must have been a different location.

Mr Imlach said the incident, which he said was “definitely not a brawl in a bar”, took place upstairs outside the toilets.

The owner of the Gold Coast location (pictured) hopes it can reopen on Sunday evening

“I spoke to my contractor earlier and he said, ‘Mate, that’s some serious power going through that window,’ — he couldn’t believe it,” he told the Gold Coast Bulletin.

“I watch the staff clean it up now that there’s glass everywhere — it’s a big window, it’s eight feet by five feet.

The businessman said police had been to the bar several times last night, but it was no longer a crime scene and could reopen on Sunday evening.

The 21-year-old man who was arrested is due to appear before Southport Magistrates Court on July 10.
