Comic Relief: The Traitors’ Maddy Smedley is reunited with EastEnders ‘co-star’ Danny Dyer in skit

Traitors’ Red Nose Day sketch brought together a host of familiar faces as former contestants mingled with celebrities in a hilarious skit.

The skit began with Dawn French taking on the role of Claudia Winkleman as the host, channeling the host’s signature blunt bangs and eyeliner.

When he began questioning the ‘contestants’, it emerged that Stephen Merchant, Danny Dyer, Mary Berry and Alison Hammond were the celebrity guests.

The camera cuts to Danny saying he ‘recognized’ a fellow traitor ‘from Walford’, with season one fan favorite Maddy Smedley making a surprise cameo as she removed her hood and explained her history on the show.

In Maddy’s season, she came under suspicion when she confessed that she was an actress who had appeared in an episode of EastEnders, where she played a homeless woman named Rita, and in an episode of Casualty, where she played a woman without a uterus.

Fans have been waiting to see the skit ever since Comic Relief co-founder Richard Curtis announced the news during Claudia Winkleman’s Radio 2 show.

Claudia told the BBC: ‘I can’t wait for people to see this sketch. I am very grateful to Comic Relief for putting everything together. I feel like I’m in an alternate universe, and I like it.’

Richard added: “I’m incredibly excited about this sketch. The Traitors is the most brilliant reality show of all time, and I hope we can ruthlessly rip it apart.

“There is an impressive group of actors who came together to destroy the reputation of Claudia Winkleman and the BBC in aid of Comic Relief.”
