Colorado woman, 20, plunges to death from a Times Square hotel, leaving a one-year-old baby behind: Man, 24, found in her ransacked room with the child is arrested

A 20-year-old woman fell to her death from a posh boutique hotel in midtown Manhattan and a 24-year-old man has been taken into custody.
Police responded to an alarm of an attack at the Oyo Hotel in Times Square at 157 West 47th Street on Tuesday night. When officers arrived at about 10:27 p.m., they discovered the young woman on the second floor in a scaffold outside the hotel, unconscious and unresponsive.
When emergency services arrived, the young woman was pronounced dead. The police are investigating whether the woman did that fallen or pushed out of the building.
An NYPD spokesperson told DailyMail.com that “further investigation revealed that a woman and a 24-year-old man had an argument in the hotel room at the location where a one-year-old male child was present.”
The 24-year-old was identified as Tyler Griffin of Littleton, Colorado. He was taken into custody and arrested on charges of assault, reckless endangerment and conduct that hurts a child under 17, the spokesman said.
Officials said the young woman’s identity has not been released until next of kin have been notified.

Griffin was described as being in an emotionally disturbed state and had to be shocked with a stun gun in the hotel lobby when they took him into custody.
He was then transported to Bellevue Hospital. The baby was found unharmed, given to a stranger during the harrowing ordeal and then taken to hospital for examination, police said.
Police could not confirm the relationship between Griffin and the woman or whether either of them was the baby’s parents.
An NYPD spokesperson told DailyMail.com that a preliminary investigation has determined the woman’s injuries indicate a fall from an elevated position.
The city’s medical examiner’s office has not yet determined the manner and cause of death. No other details are available at this time.
Police say they received multiple calls about disturbances in a 10th-floor room at the Times Square hotel, and then a call about a roof jump. NBC4 News.
Police found Griffin in the room where the 20-year-old woman was staying. Authorities said the room had been vandalized, as if there had been some sort of altercation between the couple.
While an NYPD spokesperson did not provide further details, police are now investigating the possibility that Griffin attacked the woman before she jumped, according to the news outlet.
According to NBC4 News, authorities do not believe at this time that Griffin threw or pushed the young woman off the building.
