Coldplay made history when they became the first group ever to headline Glastonbury five times on Saturday.
The British band, led by Chris Martin, made making their debut at the iconic festival in the New Bands Tent in 1999, before headlining in 2002, 2005, 2011 and 2016.
Ten minutes later, the group opened their historic set with 2000 hit Yellow, as a sea of festival-goers sang along.
But viewers at home were left frustrated by the delay and took to social media to make their feelings known.
Writing on X, formerly Twitter: ‘You’re running late guys. Call a shift!’: ‘Always late but worth the wait’: ’10 minutes late FFS classic Coldplay’: ‘Coldplay shows what’s new’: It’s really a Coldplay show when they’re late’.

Frontman Chris predicted the band’s astronomical success a year before they released their first album.
On June 26, 1998, a then 22-year-old musician stood on the pitch at UCL’s Wye Farming College at his end-of-year ball and spoke about what the future of Coldplay, then just a year old, would look like.
He said: ‘Jon Buckland, Chris Martin, Will Champion and Guy Berryman Act of the Coldplay. They’re going to be such a big band. This will be on national television in four years. Four years.

‘On June 26th, 2002, Coldplay, the band, or whatever they’re called, will be known everywhere. We’re going to be so big.’
He finished: ‘Guy, Will, John and Chris. Don’t forget. Huge, absolutely huge.’
The following year they performed for the first time at Glastonbury. Just three years later they headlined for the first time.
All of the members Chris mentioned stayed to see the band’s success. Over time, manager Phil Harvey was also recruited.
The headliners of this festival are Coldplay on Saturday evening, SZA on Sunday evening and Dua Lipa who performed on Friday evening.
Shania Twain, 58, will be playing late Sunday afternoon and spoke candidly about her preparations.
