CM Punk hilariously reacts to Rey Mysterio finally punching his own SON, Dominik

CM Punk has comedically thrown his support behind Rey Mysterio ahead of the WWE legend’s upcoming WrestleMania matchup with his son Dominik Mysterio.

The clash between father and son finally became official on Friday night SmackDown, following months of goading from Dominik following his surprising turn against the former WWE Champion at Clash at the Castle last September.

Despite Dominik’s repeated attacks and attempts to get his famous father into a physical altercation, Rey Mysterio had refused to fight his own offspring.

However, the young Mysterio went too far on this week’s SmackDown when he turned his attention to his mother. Calling her ‘lazy mom’ and then yelling in her sister’s face.

His actions were enough to see the aging Mysterio crack and after attacking his son in frustration, he tweeted his acceptance for a match at WrestleMania and was quickly endorsed by an old foe of both men, triggering memories of a show between the couple of 13 years ago.

CM Punk shamelessly tweeted his support for Rey in a flashback to their 2010 rivalry.

Mysterio, who will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame over WrestleMania weekend in Los Angeles posted; ‘Every man had the limits of her… Don’t forget that she is not only your mother but my wife. See you at WrestleMania’.

Showing his support for the duo’s father, former WWE Superstar CM Punk hilariously responded to the tweet, prompting a callout to the memorable feud between the pair, which involved a young Dominik.

‘Good for you King. I’ve wanted to hit him for 13 years!’ Punk responded, launching a callout to their rivalry over a decade ago.

Mysterio and Punk competed in a series of matches against each other in 2010, the highest profile of which saw Punk having his head shaved after a hair vs. mask match at the Over The Limit event.

Rey and Dominik Mysterio became the first father-son duo to win tag team gold in WWE

Since betraying his father, Dominik has allied himself with Rhea Ripley and The Judgment Day faction.

During his show, Punk shared the ring with a young Dominik as he attempted to intimidate the entire Mysterio family into the build up to the match, along with his Straight Edge Society stable.

Before betraying their father, Rey and Dominik made WWE history by becoming the first father and son act to win tag team championship gold.

However, Dominik has now aligned himself with The Judgment Day and his relationship with Rhea Ripley, as well as the game on his jailhouse story, have made him one of WWE’s rising stars of 2023.

The Mysterio family showdown is the latest matchup to be added to next weekend’s card, which is headlined on Sunday night by the WWE Undisputed Championship match between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes.

It was also announced on Friday that proceedings will begin on Saturday with the United States Championship match pitting champion Austin Theory against WWE legend John Cena.
