The trio were joined by director Danny Boyle, 69, who wore a dark suit over a green polo shirt, and writer James Graham, 44.
The cast posed together against the sun-drenched Venetian backdrop ahead of the film’s world premiere on Wednesday evening.
Ink has been selected to open the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, where it will compete for the prestigious Golden Lion.
Directed by Trainspotting and Slumdog Millionaire filmmaker Boyle, the biographical drama chronicles Rupert Murdoch’s takeover of The Sun in 1969 and his appointment of editor Larry Lamb.
Pearce plays the Australian media mogul, while O’Connell stars as Lamb, who is tasked with transforming the struggling newspaper into a tabloid that can overtake its rival, the Daily Mirror.
Foy plays Jules Davies, the only female reporter recruited for the newspaper’s young team.

The film opens with Murdoch trying to convince Lamb to run his newly acquired newspaper and fulfill his ambition to make it the largest in the world.
The story is set against the backdrop of 1969, the year of the Apollo 11 moon landing, as Lamb puts together a newsroom to relaunch the title.
Ink was adapted by Graham from his play of the same name, which premiered in London’s West End in 2017 before moving to Broadway two years later.
The original production received four Olivier Award nominations, while the Broadway run won two Tony Awards, including Best Actor in a Play for Bertie Carvel’s portrayal of Murdoch.
The film also reunites Boyle with O’Connell after their collaboration in 28 Years Later.
Speaking ahead of the festival, Boyle said: ‘I’ve been to the Biennale many times, but this is my baptism into the film festival – a huge honor to be in a city of such extraordinary art and to open this amazing festival with my new film INK.
‘A script by James Graham that I felt compelled and privileged to make.’
Ink opens in UK cinemas on January 8.
The Venice International Film Festival runs until September 12, with stars including Robert Pattinson and Oasis brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher expected to descend on the Lido.
