Cindy Crawford says daughter Kaia Gerber ‘good head on her shoulders’ for fame amid Austin Butler romance and modeling career: ‘I’m learning with her’
Cindy Crawford believes her rising star daughter Kaia Gerber is handling her fame amid her high-profile romance and modeling success.
The 57-year-old supermodel – who looked stunning at a recent charity event – shared it People magazine on Saturday that her 21-year-old daughter combines her career and private life as she did in the eighties.
She said, “I think she kind of sees how my husband [Rande Gerber] and I’ve dealt with it over the years.
“Which isn’t, we never try, ‘Oh, we can’t go there because we might get photographed.'”
Kaia has been romantically linked to 31-year-old Oscar nominee Austin Butler since late 2021 when they recently walked the red carpet at the TIME100 gala where he was honored.

Cindy said a stark contrast to when she arrived is social media prominence.
She explained, “It’s a very different landscape than when I was her age. Like anything, there are good and bad sides to it.
‘The great thing is that you communicate directly with your audience. The bad can be, it’s a lot of pressure and you see a lot of mean comments there.”
The former Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover girl admitted that she’s also learning how to navigate this time with her young daughter, but she’s proud of how she handled it.
She said, “I’m learning about things like that with her, but I feel like she seems to have a really good head on her shoulders and is figuring out how to create that private-work-public balance.”
Last month, Cindy spoke about her marriage during an interview with People.
Before meeting her 60-year-old husband, the model was married to Richard Gere from 1991 to 1995.
Eventually, the model met the entrepreneur and in 1998 they tied the knot.

Last month, Cindy spoke about her marriage during an interview with People when she said, “I’d say we’re pretty good at dividing up life’s responsibilities;” they were photographed in Malibu earlier this month
The happy couple eventually started a family with the birth of their son Presley in 1999 and their Kaia in 2001.
Crawford told People that she and Gerber had grown accustomed to sharing the household workload over the years.
The model stated, “I’d say we’re pretty good at dividing up life’s responsibilities.”
The fashion industry personality went on to say that since her husband had taken on the role of the family’s handyman, she had taken on several other responsibilities.
“I’m definitely more responsible for making sure groceries are in the house and planning menus, the schedule, making appointments and things like that,” she said.
Crawford also discussed how she felt her children were positively impacted by never being assigned to a “children’s table” at family events.
“I think that’s why they’re very comfortable in most life situations,” she said.
