Christophe Galtier has spoken out to Nice fans after PSG extended their lead in the top flight of Ligue 1 with a 2-0 win against his former club on Saturday.
Les Parisiens bounced back from back-to-back defeats in the league to triumph at the Parc des Princes thanks to goals from Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos.
Grim scenes followed the final whistle, however, as Nice ultras aimed at Galtier with chants and unfurled a banner referencing his elderly mother.
French broadcaster Canal+ captured Galtier speaking to Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo after the match and taunting his former player over the attacking banner: ‘JC! Have you seen the banner? Imagine if they did that to you.’
Galtier then walked over to the away supporters, applauding sarcastically in their direction, provoking an even more hostile reception from the traveling supporters.

The 56-year-old confronted Nice star Jean-Clair Todibo about the behavior of the traveling supporters
When asked what provoked his reaction at a post-game press conference, Galtier expressed frustration at the fans targeting his family: “Why did I react like that? Did you see [the banner]?!’
‘Did you read it?! did you hear?! My mother is 83 years old, she is recovering from cancer. Point.’
Galtier also expressed frustration at the fans’ ungrateful attitude after leading the club to European football last season. “The work I did last season is the reason those people can watch European matches.”
Galtier’s side won again in Ligue 1, with goals from Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos
“Whatever people think, it’s the work we did last season, along with some Didier [Digard] has done, which means there are still European matches in Nice.’
Galtier spent just 12 months with the Allianz Riviera after joining the club in 2021 following a win in Ligue 1 with Lillie.
The 56-year-old enjoyed less success in the south of France, but still managed to lead the club to a fifth-place finish in the league and a French Cup final before leaving to succeed Mauricio Pochettino in Paris.
