Christina Applegate revealed how she plans to spend the days she has “left in life” as she struggles with multiple sclerosis (MS).
On Tuesday, the 52-year-old Married… with Children star shared insight into her ambitious bucket list, which also included collaborating with pop music goddess Cher.
“There are things I want to do with the days I have left in my life,” she wrote on X. “I want to work with Shirley MacLaine And shoot with Cher! And yes, my days are that big. I’m just saying.”
The mother of one, who has 13-year-old daughter Sadie with her husband Martyn LeNoble, has received an outpouring of support from her 1.5 million followers, who have encouraged her to keep dreaming ‘big’.
“I love this! Go for it, girl!” one fan urged her.

Another commented: ‘I pray that your days are filled with peace, joy, happiness and adventure. You have always been one of my favorite actors and I always look forward to seeing you pop up every now and then.’
One user shared that she was diagnosed with MS in 2005 and told the artist to “keep pursuing her dreams” and not let MS defeat her.
Just last month, the Golden Globe winner took to social media to express her desire to one day “work with Shirley MacLaine.”
“I wish I could work with Shirley MacLaine,” she wrote. “Woke up and this dream I’ve had my whole life washed over me. And I cried for a minute. And I’m sure I will again. Oh, and Shirley, I don’t have your number anymore, so.”
Although the two have not met professionally, Applegate played the role of Charity in the 2005 musical Sweet Charity. MacLaine first portrayed the role in the 1969 film of the same name.
Applegate’s post comes just weeks after her teenage daughter shared how difficult it was watching her mother battle multiple sclerosis.
Welcoming her daughter to the MeSsy podcast, which she co-hosts with friend Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who also has MS, the 52-year-old Dead to Me star described her teenage daughter as the best guest she “could ever have” and her “reason for getting up in the morning.”
The 13-year-old said it was her idea to come on the MeSsy podcast to talk about her own experiences as the child of someone with MS.

“When she was diagnosed, it felt like… it wasn’t all over, but it was hard to see my mom lose a lot of the skills she had when I was growing up,” Sadie told listeners.
She continues: ‘When I was little, we would sometimes dance for hours in her room.’
Although Sadie said it was a “difficult” time for their family, the teen stressed that “it was also nice to be able to help and support her.”
Still, Sadie jokingly said that her mother is sometimes reluctant to accept her help.
‘Every time we go to a concert, she’s always like, “You can’t push my wheelchair, Sadie, you’re going to hit a wall,” she said. ‘And I beg. I just say, “Please, Mom, let me push your wheelchair.” Because I want to help her, so that’s definitely why I want to do it, but it’s also funny because she’s always like, “No, I want this person to do it” … and that’s never me.’
Applegate then playfully told Sadie that she was “afraid that… if there was some kind of slope that Sadie would ‘let go,’ that she would be ‘funny.’
Despite her occasional concerns, the Hollywood star pointed out that her daughter was “terribly good at pushing the wheelchair.”
After she was first diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in June 2021, Sadie recalls how Applegate would have her “put on socks with sand or balloons with sand” to “help” her “understand the pain of walking.”
“It was a very uncomfortable experience,” Sadie noted.

Sadie also spoke about her own health issues, including misophonia, which is a “strong aversion or hatred of certain sounds,” according to WebMD.
The condition can cause a person to exhibit unusually strong emotions, body changes, or reactive behavior, compromising functioning, social interactions, and mental health.
In addition, she was recently diagnosed with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS).
POTS is a disorder of the autonomic nervous system that can cause an extremely fast heart rate and dizziness.
“When my mother says, ‘I’m in pain right now. I’m having tremors.’ If I hadn’t [POTS]”I would probably be like… I don’t know what you’re talking about. But I actually have tremors from POTS,” Sadie explained. “It’s definitely a lot easier to understand what she’s going through if I’m going through something myself.”
Sadie has accompanied her mother to several star-studded events over the years, including the 2023 Screen Actors Guild Awards and the 2024 Emmy Awards.
In March, Applegate admitted that multiple sclerosis has changed her ability to parent (seen in 2022)
In March, Applegate admitted that multiple sclerosis has affected her ability to raise children.
“She’s had to see the loss of her mother, the way I was a mother to her,” the actress told People. “Dancing with her every day. Picking her up from school every day. Working at her school, working at the library. Being present outside the house, outside my bed. She doesn’t see those things anymore.”
She added: ‘This is a loss for her too. And we’re both learning as we go.’
In 2018, Applegate raved that her daughter had a very “entertaining” personality and a talent for comedy, playing the piano and imitating accents.
“She has a lot of accents in her repertoire,” the artist said Peopleat the time. ‘She’s such a joker.’
Applegate also noted that she has a “very strict rule” that her teenage girl must wait until she is at least 18 before she can pursue acting if she wants to.
“Under my roof, you train and you become the best you can be,” the star said. “And also have a good education, because… the opportunity to be successful in this business is really, really [slim].
