Chrissy Teigen touted the benefits of a postpartum belly wrap on Instagram on Friday, exactly one week after giving birth to her and John Legend’s new baby girl.
The supermodel, 37, posted a photo of herself wearing a belly binder alongside her Grammy Award-winning husband, 44, and a bedazzled specialist from Bengkung Belly Binding Agency.

According to New Life Birth Services: ‘Bad wrapping is the tradition of wrapping the postpartum belly 2 to 4 days after a vaginal delivery (or 10 days to 2 weeks after a cesarean delivery).’

Belly binding provides ‘hip and lower back support’, helping mom recover much faster.

Chrissy opted for the most common style of belly bandaging, the Bengkung method, which involves tying “a series of knots in the pelvic and abdominal area.”
The emotional and physical effects are so positive that many mothers describe it as “a big hug.”
Legend first shared the happy news while performing at a private concert last Friday night, telling the crowd that he and his wife welcomed the “little baby this morning.”
“What a blessed day,” the singer said, adding that although he “didn’t get much sleep,” he felt “energized” after spending “a lot of time” by Chrissy’s side in the hospital.
