Chris Hemsworth was caught with Spanish words scribbled on the palm of his left hand as he stepped outside the premiere of his movie Extraction 2 on the red carpet in Madrid on Wednesday.
The 39-year-old hunk from Bryon Bay took to the red carpet alongside his Spanish wife Elsa Pataky, 46, where they were mobbed by hundreds of adoring fans.
But as Chris waved and happily signed autographs for the crowd, he was seen with Spanish words scribbled in blue pen on the inside of his hand.
The Hollywood actor has been married to his wife, who was born in Madrid, for 13 years, but it seems he has yet to learn the language.
The Thor star took the gaffe with good humor and addressed it in an Instagram post on Thursday.

“After years of coming to Spain and being asked ‘has my Spanish improved’, I can safely say it’s in the palm of my hand,” he said.
The sweet message on his hand reads: ‘Estoy muy feliz de estar en España’ which translates to: ‘I am very happy to be in Spain’.
“Elsa wrote it for me,” Chris told Spanish TV show El Hormiguero (The Anthill).
Chris, who plays the black market mercenary Tyler Rake in the movies, looked sharp in a black suit and crisp white shirt at the event.
Extraction 2, the follow-up to 2020’s hit Extraction, will be released on June 16.

The work trip comes after the actor announced his film career is taking a back seat to a discovery that he is at risk for Alzheimer’s disease.
Chris, who recently lost his grandfather Martin to Alzheimer’s disease at the age of 83, spoke to British magazine GQ this week about how he wants to be remembered when it’s his time to go.
Hemsworth said he was touched to hear people speak fondly of Martin at his funeral, and hopes the same will happen for him when he dies.
“My uncle specifically said, ‘he’s remembered as a good guy.’ And if he knew, or if someone told him that’s how he would be remembered, how incredibly proud would he feel,” the Thor star explained.
It made me think about my own life. And it wasn’t about career or anything. It was about being remembered as someone who was good and kind and contributed something of value.”
The Rush actor told Vanity Fair last November that he has decided to take “time off” after filming a confrontational episode about death in his new Disney+ docu-series Limitless.

The work trip comes after the actor announced his film career would take a back seat following a discovery that he is at risk for Alzheimer’s disease
After having blood tests done for the program, he was told he is “eight to 10 times” more likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease than the general population because he is one of only two to three percent of people is with two copies of the APOE4 gene.
However, according to the CDC, there are apparently a number of steps people in his position can take to reduce their level of risk, such as making sure they get a good night’s sleep, limiting their alcohol consumption, and quitting smoking.
As a result, Chris responded to the news of his own predisposition to Alzheimer’s disease by adopting a healthier lifestyle.
“Doing an episode about death and facing your own mortality made me think, ‘Oh God, I’m not ready to go,'” he told the publication.
“I want to sit and be in this space with a greater sense of stillness and gratitude. And then you start talking about kids and family… It really triggered something in me to want to get away from it all.”
Limitless plays on Chris’ fame through superhero movies and follows him as he pushes the limits of what his body can do.
He can be seen on the Disney+ program pursuing various physical goals, as according to Variety, 40 pounds of weight gain was for a Thor movie.
Extraction 2 will be available to stream on Netflix from June 16
