Chris Evans starred in a new trailer for Red One that dropped on Sunday, showing his character being called upon to save Santa Claus.
The 43-year-old actor, best known for his role as Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, now plays hacker and bounty hunter Jack O’Malley in the upcoming holiday action-adventure comedy from director Jake Kasdan, 49.
The trailer opens with Jack returning home and noticing subtle signs of danger, only to find himself in a superhero battle with his attackers.
At the end of the battle, Jack came face to face with Zoe [Lucy Liu] who knocked him out with a powerful electrical device.
Zoe then told Jack that ‘Red One, also known as Santa Claus’ had been kidnapped.

“What are you saying? Has Santa been kidnapped?” Jack asked in disbelief.
“You’re the best tracker in the world. You’re going to help us find him,” Zoe said.
Jack then told Zoe that he was working alone.
Dwayne Johnson, who plays Callum Drift, appeared and told Jack they would be working together.
“I’m not going to like you. I can tell right away that out of everyone here, I like you the least,” Jack said to Callum
Callum terrified Jack when he introduced him to their colleague, a giant talking polar bear.
Jack and Callum then set out to rescue Santa Claus, played by JK Simmons, using toy store cupboards, which are secret portal stations for a public transport system at the North Pole.
Callum also showed Jack that he could transform toys into real objects, including a Hot Wheels sports car and toy fighting robots.

At the end of the battle, Jack came face to face with Zoe [Lucy Liu] who knocked him out with a powerful electrical device
Zoe then informed Jack that ‘Red One, aka Saint Nicholas’ had been kidnapped
Dwayne Johnson, who plays Callum Drift, appeared and informed Jack that they would be working together
A giant talking polar bear was also part of the team that saved Santa Claus
The trailer also featured Kiernan Shipka as the creepy character Gryla and Kristofer Hivju as Krampus.
The film also stars Bonnie Hunt as Mrs. Claus, Mary Elizabeth Ellis as Olivia, Wesley Kimmel as Dylan and Nick Kroll as Ted.
Red One was originally set to release worldwide on Prime Video for Christmas 2023, but the release was delayed due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike.
Amazon MGM will distribute the film in U.S. theaters, with a release date scheduled for Nov. 15. Johnson, 52, is also a producer on the film and will star in it.
