Chris Brown has been sued by music producer who claims rapper ‘smashed a bottle of Don Julio over his head in a London nightclub, knocking him unconscious to the floor’
Chris Brown is accused of hitting a music producer with a bottle of tequila at a London nightclub, causing injuries so severe that the man was hospitalized.
The 34-year-old rapper is being sued by Abraham Diaw, who is seeking damages after Brown allegedly hit him in the head with a bottle of Don Julio 1942 tequila.
Diaw claimed Brown hit him in the head with âcrushing blowsâ on February 19 at Tape London, where the singer was celebrating the UK leg of his Under the Influence tour.
The producer said he had known Brown for almost a decade and thought he wanted to hug him before hitting him with the bottle.
Diaw was allegedly knocked unconscious before Brown continued to kick him as he lay on the club floor.

The incident took place at Tape London nightclub on February 19, where Brown and his entourage were celebrating the UK leg of his tour.
The music director claimed that London police have surveillance footage of the attack.
Diaw claimed he had to be hospitalized due to his injuries, which included cuts to his head and torn ligaments in his leg.
The injuries could be permanent, he said â adding that he is suffering from âsevere emotional distress and traumaâ.
Speaking to The Sun two months after the alleged attack, Diaw â who asked to conceal his identity at the time â said Brown had instigated the attack.
âHe hit me in the head two or three times,â the producer claimed.
‘My knee dropped too. He pretends it was someone from his entourage, but it was him.’
Diaw added: âI have spoken to the police and they hope to resolve the matter quickly. It is now in the hands of my lawyer and I cannot comment further on it.â
He said he needed crutches after being released from the hospital.
One of Diaw’s friends told the tabloids: ‘He was badly beaten. He is on crutches, cannot walk and has to undergo months of physiotherapy.’
Brown’s camp feared at the time that his visa would be revoked.
The singer’s representatives said he planned to visit a police station for questioning on March 29, after the end of his tour.
However, he was able to leave the country and return to the United States.
âChris knows he will be arrested if he goes back to Britain but is still doing everything he can to avoid this,â a source told The Sun.
‘But he is also concerned that he could potentially be arrested in any country with an extradition treaty with Britain. No one can figure out why he was ever allowed to leave Britain.’

Brown’s career has long been tarnished by his attack on then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009
In an Instagram post, Brown claimed the incident was a “mistake” from when he was 17 and accused his critics of turning a blind eye to other abusers.
The lawsuit comes in the wake of several other legal challenges, including a lawsuit over a loan allegedly used to purchase two Popeyes locations.
City National Bank filed the lawsuit in California. The bank has been requesting repayment since 2018 and as of February 17, an unpaid balance of $2,140,901.74 in principal and interest remains.
Brown is embroiled in another lawsuit filed by two former housekeepers, who alleged one of his dogs attacked them.
Maria Avila is seeking $71 million for her injuries, while her sister Patricia is seeking damages for “extreme emotional distress.”
Brown is infamously remembered for his checkered past with singer and Fenty businesswoman Rihanna.
The duo dated from 2007 until February 2009, when Brown was arrested for physically assaulting the pop star.
He pleaded guilty to an assault charge and agreed to a plea deal that included five years of probation, community service and domestic violence counseling.
Rihanna dropped the five-year restraining order, but the incident nevertheless cast a shadow over Brown’s music career.
The rapper said he felt like a “monster” in a clip from his 2017 documentary, Chris Brown: Welcome to My Life.
He described how things took a turn for the worse after he admitted he had a sexual history with a woman who once worked for him.
âShe hated me,â Brown said. ‘After that I tried everything. She didn’t care, she just didn’t trust me after that.
âIt just went downhill from there because it would be fights, it would be verbal fights, but also physical fights. Mutual sides, it’s the first time I can say something.’
He said that both he and Rihanna were guilty of hitting each other, “but it was never okay.” It was always a point where we would talk about it like, âWhat the fuck are we doing?â
In February – the same month as the alleged club attack – Brown took to Instagram with an expletive-filled tirade in which he criticized people for bringing up his past.
“If y’all still hate me for a mistake I made as a 17 year old, please kiss my whole ass!” He wrote.
