“His schedule, I don’t even remember him being in England for a whole week. He’s everywhere and I just can’t do that.’
Chloe said she remembers the exact moment she declared she was convinced the relationship was over.
‘I swear to God it was like a day, I remember exactly where we were – I remember the day, the time, the temperature, the outfit, everything – I just remember saying, ‘I think not that we should do this anymore’, but really mean it.
‘It doesn’t just happen, at least it didn’t happen to us. It was renovated over time and remains so today.’
The daughter of TV stars Richard and Judy also said she ‘never’ could have predicted their split.
When asked how long they’ve been separated, she revealed: ‘Oh my god, I’ll just be honest, exactly one year.
‘We started the conversation in August last year. I think people think it’s a specific date.
“As the days, weeks, months go by, you realize no one is fighting for this. You realize that you’re getting more and more serious about this thing you were talking about in the first place.
‘And so slowly, slowly it disappeared, but the first conversation started in August last year.
“I think I knew I was really unhappy, and I think he knew he was really unhappy, too.
“But I don’t think either of us could have ever predicted that we would break up.”
The pair share daughter Bodhi, one, and successfully co-parent together
Despite finding things ‘difficult’, Chloe and James stayed focused on their daughter and were spotted out for dinner as a family.
The couple confirmed their separation in a joint statement released in October after appearing in public without their wedding rings
Last month, Chloe’s father Richard revealed that despite the end of their marriage, both his daughter and James are in a ‘very happy uncoupling’.
He previously told The Sun: ‘Chloe is very happy, she and James are going to France together, they have a very happy uncoupling.
‘It’s a very civil relationship. We see James a lot, he is often at home, with or without Chloe.’
‘I have a drink with him every now and then. It’s all good. It’s a very civilized divorce. Co-parenting is going very well.’
In October 2023, the couple confirmed that they had split after ten years together in a joint statement.
The couple, who star in their own ITV reality show Chloe Madeley: A Family Affair, announced: ‘Chloe and I mutually decided to separate at the end of September 2023.
‘We had no intention of releasing a statement at the time – especially while the television show was airing – but the continued speculation about our marriage has unfortunately forced our hand.
“Other than this statement, we will not speak publicly about this matter and would like to request privacy at this time.
‘Our sole focus now is on our beautiful daughter. We will continue to co-parent with nothing but love.”
