An 11-year-old boy is fighting for his life in hospital after he was struck by a train in suburban Adelaide during the morning rush hour.
The boy was struck by a car at Tambelin railway station in Evanston Gardens, north of Adelaide, shortly before 8:15am (ACDT) on Tuesday morning.

In a communication to parents, Trinity College Principal Nick Hately said the student was struck by the train while crossing Tambelin railway station.
Hately said several students saw the boy being beaten.
“The incident occurred before school and several Trinity students and staff witnessed this event,” he said.
Students Sophie Shepley, 18, and Morgan Taylor, 18, witnessed the incident, Adelaide Now reports.
“The train stopped and people were running and banging on the door,” Shepley said.
‘They were getting everyone’s attention so that people would know that someone had been hit. It was really confusing and we didn’t know what to do.’
