Queen Letizia of Spain showed her support by donning the colors of Spain’s kit as she traveled to the World Cup final with her daughter Infanta Sofía.
The glamorous royal, 50, who is the wife of King Felipe VI of Spain, turned heads in an elegant red suit teamed with a black blouse as she headed to the much-anticipated game in Sydney today.
She walked alongside her 16-year-old daughter Sofía, who matched her mother’s style in a striking scarlet scarf, paired with a cream coat.
But while Spain has the support of their royals in the stands, the lionesses have no member of the British royal family cheering them on in Australia.
Yesterday, Prince William apologized for not attending the World Cup final to cheer on England – as palace sources claim he was concerned about his carbon footprint and the diplomatic ramifications of a trip to Australia.

In a video posted to the social media account of the Prince and Princess of Wales, William congratulated the lionesses along with his daughter Princess Charlotte, who was holding a soccer ball.
While the Spanish royals will be cheering their national side, the Lionesses will not receive the same support from members of The Firm.
FIFA President Prince William has released a video wishing the squad the best of luck in their match against Spain.
During the clip, the royal says, “Lionesses, I want to send you all the best of luck for tomorrow.
“We’re sorry we can’t be there in person, but we’re so proud of all you’ve accomplished and the millions you’ve inspired here and around the world.
So go out tomorrow and really enjoy yourself.”
Meanwhile, a beaming Charlotte adds, “Good luck Lionesses!”
The Prince has come under fire for his decision not to travel to Australia to attend the match in person.

Kensington Palace sources cited several reasons why the Prince decided to watch the match at home in Anmer Hall, Norfolk, instead.
One is the carbon footprint, especially since he will be traveling to the US next month to support his Earthshot green campaign. It was also regarded as not a diplomatically sound move – both on a family and a political level.
William’s father Charles has still not visited Australia as king, a country where he is also a monarch, and it is believed that a short visit from his son would be diplomatically unwise.
A source added: “It was a balanced decision. The Prince of Wales hasn’t visited since 2014, so he wishes his next trip to Australia would be a substantial one.
“He met them (the Lionesses) in St George’s Park before they fledged and he supported them throughout the tournament by sending personal messages of good luck to the manager and team.”
