Chappell Roan set to awkwardly appear on SNL with Kamala Harris after refusing to endorse her

Chappell Roan and Vice President Kamala Harris will come face to face when they both appear on the November 2 episode of Saturday Night Live.

The pop star, 26, and politician, 60, are risking an awkward confrontation after Roan refused to back Harris in September.

With just days before the November 5, 2024 presidential election, the former California senator is doing her best to convince undecided voters.

John Mulaney will host the new episode of the comedy series, with Chappell as musical guest.

A source said this New York Post that Kamala will make her cameo during the show’s cold open, adding, “It’s all been quiet.”

Meanwhile, Chappell is promoting her upcoming spot on the iconic comedy program via Instagram this week.

On Friday night, she shared a throwback Facebook post from 2011, declaring, “I’m committed to being on SNL.”

Her caption read: “@nbcsnl Tmrw night with @johnmulaney,” and included a snapshot of her with the comedian from their featurettes.

When fans heard about the Vice President’s surprise moment on the show, fans went to X to talk.

Someone wrote on Elon Musk’s social media platform: “Lmao Kamala Harris appearing in the chappell roan episode of snl is actually VERY FUNNY.”

Someone else added, “Kamala Harris even shines with her SNL look. It was top secret. I won’t tell the press until they’re in the air, halfway to NYC. Appearing with Chappell Roan. It’s all TOO GOOD!’

Another person used a clip of Roan pointing out a red carpet photographer and wrote, “Kamala Harris at SNL when she sees Chappell Roan.”

There was also a social media user who used a clip of Kamala to demonstrate that she “rolled into SNL’s studio 8H to answer Chappell Roan’s questions about the policy.”

In late September, Chappell doubled down on her previous comments about the election after facing backlash for not officially endorsing a candidate.

The singer turned to TikTok to clarify her position, reiterating that while she plans to vote for Kamala Harris, she is not giving a formal endorsement.

She began the segment by saying, “If you don’t understand what I’m saying, it’s a lost cause.”

The Missouri-bred star added, “Approving and voting are completely different and I don’t agree with a lot of what’s going on with the policies, like obviously the policies on the right… but also f***a part of the policy on the left.’

Roan explained, “That’s why I can’t endorse it; I can’t put my whole name or my whole project behind one name [candidate]because in no way can I support some of the completely transphobic and completely genocidal views of the left. There are big problems on both sides.’

There was no shortage of fans using pop culture references to predict how a potential meeting between Roan and Harris would go

There was also a social media user who used a clip of Kamala to demonstrate that she “rolled into SNL’s studio 8H to answer Chappell Roan’s questions about the policy.”

“So no, I’m not going to settle for the options in front of me. So yes, I will vote for Kamala, but I will not settle for what is on offer because it is questionable, she emphasized.

The Hot To Go hitmaker continued: ‘I’m criticizing both sides because they’re both so damned.’

She captioned the clip: “And I’m not forcing you to agree with me. This is my statement. Have a nice day.’

Harrison Ford, Chloe Grace Moretz and Jennifer Lopez are some of the latest celebrities to support Harris.
