Channel 10 staff have hit back at network executives after receiving a cheeky email just after 1pm on Tuesday explaining that Studio 10 had closed down.
When the final episode aired on December 22, the breakfast show crew were outraged by the ’emotionless and cold’ announcement.
The letter sent explained that the program was being discontinued, but offered no words of support or comfort to the team, the newspaper said The Daily Telegraph just hours later.
According to the publication, a senior Channel 10 employee said many employees were unhappy with the lack of empathy and caring in the email.
“Just two weeks ago Studio 10 celebrated its tenth anniversary on air – now the team isn’t even thanked for their hard work or successes,” they said.

They added: ‘It is unfair for management to blame this on a “change in viewing behaviour” rather than poor decision-making at the top.’
Network News director Martin White was the senior person who sent the email, saying: ‘There will be a new morning line-up’ in 2024.
He added that there would be ‘an increased focus on news and current affairs throughout the day’, with a 3.30pm news bulletin added to the timetable.

“We will welcome several members of the Studio 10 team to the news team. There will be no impact on news jobs as a result of this change,” he wrote.
A spokesperson confirmed on Tuesday that the final episode of Studio 10 will air on Friday, December 22, after more than a decade on Australian screens.
Hosts Angela Bishop, Narelda Jacobs and Tristan MacManus, as well as special roving reporter Daniel Doody, will remain with the network and be deployed in various roles.

Bishop and McManus admitted in an emotional Instagram video that it had been a “tough day” after being told of the news over lunch on Tuesday.
“It’s a tough day for the entire Studio 10 family as we have loved bringing you the show for the past decade,” Bishop said.
“We are all very proud to be part of it. To wrap up, I’m going to squeeze out a quote: “Don’t cry because it’s over; laugh because it happened.”‘
Meanwhile, another network spokesperson thanked the show’s hosts, past and present, staff and viewers for their support of the program.
