It was a surprise hit for the controversial Channel 10 in 2022.
And now the real-life adventure series Hunted Australia is back for a second season.
The struggling TV network has released a trailer for the new series that promises plenty of action as contestants must once again try to outsmart a team of surveillance experts.
Last year’s gripping series averaged 1.09 million viewers nationally over the nine episodes as fans tuned in to see who could evade capture for 21 days, with the eventual winner collecting $100,000.
And ratings-starved Channel 10 hopes to repeat that success this year.

The new preview begins with spectacular scenes of a foot chase around Port Melbourne harbour.
A pursuit helicopter is seen attempting to pinpoint the position of the contestants as they attempt to escape.
Meanwhile, the trailer promises that this season’s fugitives will be smarter and use their own technology to evade their pursuers.
The preview shows scenes of the hunters boiling with frustration as they realize the fugitives are trying to hack into their surveillance methods, including home tracking devices.
Other scenes show a daring pair of fugitives taunting their pursuers with a TikTok video.
Last year’s season started with 18 contestants on the run from the hunters, but only two made it through the full 21 days to collect the $100,000 prize pool.
Rob Harneiss and Stathi Vamvoulidis were crowned champions at the blood-curdling season finale last August.

Hunted Australia exceeded all expectations during its three-week run, reports TV black box.
A rating analysis shows that it was number 1 in all major demographics for people between the ages of 16 and 54.
The cat-and-mouse game was 23 percent more popular than its commercial rivals, including Nine’s Beauty and the Geek.
Hunter Australia was also Channel 10’s most successful relaunch since the first season of The Masked Singer in 2019.
