Celeste Barber recently launched a scathing tirade against streaming giant Netflix after it was announced they had canceled her comedy series Wellmania.
And on Tuesday, she posted a snarky photo on Instagram questioning Netflix’s statement that they canceled the series after just one season due to poor ratings.
In addition to a photo of the Wellmania poster, Celeste added stats from a global streaming chart, which showed the series debuting among the top ten most streamed Netflix shows.
‘Netflix Top Ten: Number Seven – Wellmania. 14,460,000 hours watched in the week of March 27 through April 2, 2023,” the chart said.
Celeste posted a “confused face” emoji next to the card to express her disbelief at the claim that the show was canceled because of the “numbers.”

“Hello friends, Wellmania will not be renewed for another season. Netflix said it’s something about numbers. “Sure,” she began.
‘I thought it was broken, but I don’t understand how it works. Thank you for the love and support surrounding the show. The way it was received was so overwhelming.

“A lot of you told me you saw yourself in my character and wanted to see more of her, but this industry is kind of bulls**t. So go watch Friends, but maybe not on Netflix,” she snapped.

In January, it was announced that Barber would expand her career with a starring role in the Netflix comedy series Wellmania.
The series followed Barber’s character Liv as she embarked on a strict “wellness journey” after a visit to the doctor diagnosed her with a “catastrophic” health condition.
The show was well received by critics and has a stunning score of 89% on the review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes.
