The end date of Celebrity Big Brother was revealed on Wednesday.

The iconic show returned on Monday with launch night as 13 celebrities entered the house ready for fun, games and maybe a fight.

Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne, Kate Middleton’s uncle Gary Goldsmith and Coronation Street’s Colson Smith are among the stars taking part.

It has now been revealed that the live final will air on ITV on Friday, March 22 at 9pm.

The public will vote for their winner after a series of eliminations during the three-week series.

The series is hosted by AJ Odudu and Will Best, who were brought in for the Big Brother reboot last year.

It comes after Celebrity Big Brother was slammed by domestic abuse charity Women’s Aid following Gary’s controversial signing.

The businessman has been causing a stir with his outspoken views since the show started on Monday.

In a statement, Women’s Aid condemned Gary’s signing as showing a ‘lack of awareness of domestic violence survivors’ after he was convicted of assaulting his fourth wife Julie-Ann in 2017.

The charity also implored ITV to consider what impact Gary’s actions will have on other women who have survived domestic abuse.

They said: ‘The decision to include a man who has been charged and found guilty of assaulting his wife in the Celebrity Big Brother house shows the lack of awareness the production team has when it comes to survivors of domestic violence.

‘The producers must consider the impact that Gary Goldsmith’s performance will have on women survivors of domestic violence and how they will feel when they see him on TV every night.

‘At Women’s Aid we urge producers to think about how they approach this, as for many abuse survivors the inclusion of men convicted of abuse in entertainment programs will be a sign that these crimes are not being taken seriously taken. to think about the impact on women from whom they give a platform and derive entertainment value.”

In response, a spokesperson for Celebrity Big Brother said: ‘All housemates undergo language and behavior training before entering the Big Brother house. All behavior in the home is strictly monitored at all times.”

Gary rose to fame in 2009 when he was caught by the now defunct News Of The World newspaper in a drug sting at his Ibiza villa, the Maison de Bang Bang – crude French slang for ‘House of Sex’.

He was filmed giving hard drugs to an undercover reporter but he denied taking drugs and reporter Mazher Mahmood, known as the ‘Fake Sheikh’, was later jailed for perverting the course of justice.

The businessman, who made his money through recruitment and was once worth £30million, is said to have been kept at arm’s length by the Middletons in recent years.

This is despite the fact that he attended William and Kate’s wedding in London in 2011 and that of Kate’s sister Pippa Middleton to James Matthews in Berkshire six years later.

In 2012 he married his fourth wife Julie-Ann, but five years later in 2017 he was arrested after attacking her outside their London home.

Gary knocked her to the ground after she accused him of taking drugs during a drunken fight.

He later pleaded guilty to assault by beating and was fined £5,000 and given a 12-month community order with 20 rehabilitation sessions.

Julie-Ann’s mother Maureen Brown told MailOnline at the time: ‘You shouldn’t do that to a woman. She doesn’t deserve that.’

Gary has also publicly apologized for his behavior, saying: “I’m not perfect and I made a mistake, a personal falling out seven years ago that came to light publicly and that I’ve worked endlessly for seven years to rectify . The crime is long over, but my regrets remain.”

As he moved into the Celebrity Big Brother house on Monday, Gary said he believed Kate might be watching from ‘behind a sofa’.

He reportedly tried to land a spot on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here last year but was turned down because he feared it would embarrass his niece.

Mr Goldsmith is said to have told friends he won’t do anything to hurt Kate or William on Celebrity Big Brother, but he has previously attacked Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, which is why they could now be in the line of fire.

When asked by celebrity Big Brother host AJ Odudu last night if Kate would be watching, Mr Goldsmith said: “If she is, it will be behind a sofa I think… It will be a nice one in a nice house , I can do that. guarantee that.’
