Carolina Hurricanes advance to the NHL Eastern Conference Finals after beating the New Jersey Devils 3-2 in overtime to win the series 4-1

A tip-in goal to Jesper Fast off a Jesperi Kotkaniemi shot was the winner of the game for the Carolina Hurricanes advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals for the second time in five seasons.

In the closest game to the series—the only one to go to overtime—Fast’s goal won the game for Carolina by a score of 3–2 over the New Jersey Devils. They won the series four games to one.

Now it’s a matter of waiting for the winner of the series between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Florida Panthers.

Fast’s goal was his third of the series and his fourth of the playoffs for a Carolina team playing without star winger Andrei Svechnikov.

Carolina reach the Conference Finals for the first time since 2019, when they were swept by the Boston Bruins.
