  • Gray Holden Cruze was caught on video hitting red Hyundai
  • Police charged a 41-year-old woman with the dramatic accident

CCTV captured the shocking moment when a suspected drunk driver swerved off a road and collided with a parked car before getting caught in a hedge.

The gray Holden Cruze can be seen crashing into the parked red Hyundai Getz and demolishing a street sign before finally coming to a stop in a neighbor’s yard.

As bystanders rush to help, a barefoot woman emerges from the driver’s side of the crashed car and calmly walks to open the passenger door.

He appears to be exchanging words with his passenger, glimpsed earlier in the video wearing a high-visibility jacket, who became engulfed in activated airbags from the crash.

The woman then appears to storm off, causing concerned bystanders to rush.

Footage from the drama was captured by a security camera on Cara Street in Aspley, north Brisbane, on Thursday afternoon.

It showed the gray car swerving into the red vehicle before climbing onto the natural strip, knocking over the street sign as the red car turned into the middle of the road.

Debris from the crash was thrown into the air by the impact, and the front end of the Hyundai was left a tangle of crumpled metal. No one was in the Getz at the time.

Smoke could be seen billowing from the Holden’s engine as it huddled in the hedge.

A neighbor apparently holding a beer approached the woman, but was then seen walking away quickly.
