Mum spots huge box of kids’ lunchbox snacks that cost $2.15 each at Coles for less than a dollar at Costco: ‘Unbelievable bargain’

A money-saving mom spotted a very cheap deal on a kid’s snack at Costco Wholesalers.

The Canberra woman found a pack of 12 Rafferty’s Garden Chocolate Custard Pouches for just 97 cents.

The pack of 12 was less than half the price of one bag of chocolate custard from Coles or Woolworths, which costs up to $2.15.

She shared the budget find online, impressing parents looking for ways to save on their children’s school lunches and snacks.

“I was at Costco this morning and yes, it’s $.97 for 12 Rafferty Garden chocolate bags,” the mom said in the Markdown addicts Australia Facebook group.

Costco stocks large quantities of branded groceries at much lower prices than major supermarkets.

There are only 15 of the American-founded retail chains in Australia and customers must sign up for a $60 annual fee to shop there.

The group members were impressed with the ‘incredible’ purchase, while some hoped to find it themselves at their nearest Costco.

“Oh, wow, I need this,” said one mother and another said, “You can’t even get one for that price!”.

‘OMG, my son loves it. I am not a Costco member and don’t have one near me,” a third added.

“But be careful, they are stains,” someone warned.

Others were skeptical, wondering if they were being discounted because they were approaching or had passed their expiration date.

However, the mother said the expiration date was not until September 2024.
