An A-list Hollywood agent is stepping down from her directorship after sharing a social media post accusing Israel of genocide.
Maha Dakhil has resigned from her role on the internal board of the Creative Artists Agency after sharing the inflammatory post on Instagram on Wednesday amid the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
The officer shared a post to her Instagram stories from a FreePalestine account, sharing his thoughts on the October 7 attacks on Israel. The message read in part: “You learn who supports genocide.”
“That’s the meaning for me,” Dakhil wrote next to the post.
‘What’s more heartbreaking than witnessing genocide? Witness to the denial that genocide is happening,” Dakhil wrote in a second Instagram post.

Dahkil, who has worked with stars including Tom Cruise, Reese Witherspoon and Jewish Natalie Portman, will continue to serve her clients, CAA said.
The agency confirmed that she was also stepping down from her position as co-head of the film department.
Dahkil deleted the messages shortly after posting them and apologized in a statement to Variety, saying: “I made a mistake with a repost on my Instagram Story that used offensive language. Like so many of us, I am heartbroken. I am proud to be on the side of humanity and peace.
‘I am so grateful to Jewish friends and colleagues who pointed out the implications and informed me further. I immediately deleted the repost. I’m sorry for the pain I caused.’
But the messages had made their way through the Hollywood community, Variety reported, and many of her colleagues at CAA were reportedly “offended and saddened.”
Dakhil responded again on Instagram on Wednesday, writing: “Word choice is important. Dialogue has a healing effect. As each unbearable day passes, I listen and learn more from my friends. Thank you,.
“I include all our families in my prayers… I mourn for all those who are suffering right now. I continue to mourn all the innocent lives. My mission is peace.’
CAA, perhaps the most powerful agency in Hollywood, issued its own statement in support of Israel after the October 7 attacks.
The company said it “stands with the people of Israel, the Jewish community and all innocent victims in the face of heinous acts of terrorism.” For those with family, friends or loved ones living in or connected to Israel and the region, our thoughts are with you. We wish peace for all people.’
