Britain’s Jack Draper has retired from the US Open after suffering an injury in his third round match.

The 20-year-old was 6-3 4-6 6-5 down to Russia’s Karen Khachanov before he signalled to the umpire that he was unable to continue. He had strapped up the back of his right hamstring just before that.

It comes as a sad turn of events for the rising star who looked to be heading for the win before being troubled by the injury, allowing Khachanov to gain the advantage.
