A high-profile Brisbane radio host is being sued for $1.5 million after allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl four decades ago.
Former 4BC radio announcer Murray Shoring, 64, is accused of molesting the teenager in 1981 when he was in his early 20s.
The woman claims they met through phone calls to the radio station where he was working at the time, before he allegedly abused her for several months.
The woman filed a personal injury claim with the Brisbane High Court last week, alleging that the alleged child abuse had left her with permanent scars.
Mr Shoring’s legal team said he “completely denies” the allegations, the Courier Mail reports.
The woman claims she met Shoring over the phone while he was working on a telethon and in person during meetings at his office.

In the claim documents, the woman claims that they met weekly from May to December 1981, and that the radio host allegedly sexually assaulted her “alternately and regularly”.
She claims the alleged abuse included groping, touching and kissing her, and on one occasion digital penetration.
She further claims that he would tell her he loved her and wanted to marry her and would not tell her parents what they were doing together during their outings, which included trips to the movies, a coffee shop and the Brisbane Botanical Gardens.
The woman claims she has since suffered from anxiety, PTSD, anorexia, alcohol abuse, depression, nightmares and suicidal thoughts.
“(The deeds) took place during such a formative and developing period of the plaintiff’s life, and the insidious nature of the error itself has colored and adversely affected almost all facets of the plaintiff’s life,” the claim read.
According to the allegation, the woman met Shoring in 1981 when she was 14. He is depicted as an extra on the TV show Love Boat that same year.
“The consequences of the abuse are far-reaching and will last throughout the plaintiff’s life.”
Shoring is a well known figure in the local radio industry and currently works at Gold Coast’s 100.6 Breeze.
He also acted in several movies and television series.
Shoring’s legal team has yet to file a defense with the Supreme Court.
Shoring has never been charged for the acts and his lawyer Seymour Furlong director Peter Seymour said his client denies the claims.
“Our client absolutely and completely denies these claims made against him and intends to vigorously defend them,” Seymour said in a statement.
