Bus driver is dropped off after being caught in a dangerous act behind the wheel
- Brisbane bus driver caught playing video while driving
- Passenger filmed the worrying incident
A bus driver in Brisbane has been caught playing a TV show on his phone while transporting a full load of passengers.
An irate woman on her daily commute filmed the Translink driver with his phone resting on the dashboard while a program was playing.
Less than a meter from where the man was sitting was a large sign warning passengers to keep the noise down because it could “distract the driver and other passengers.”
The TikTok user posted the clip titled “Send your best wishes, someone’s grandpa is going to kill me.”

She added: “This is illegal, he has headphones on, head down watching a show, driving a large vehicle full of public passengers.”
Shocked social media users were also stunned by the dangerous behavior.
“Risking so many lives… deserves more than just getting fired,” one person wrote.
Another said, “That’s the definition of a distracted driver, especially if he’s a public servant.”
A third wrote: ‘Wow! As a bus driver myself, I am shocked by this behaviour!’
Brisbane City Council has since withdrawn the driver as an investigation is launched into the “disappointing, dangerous and clearly unacceptable actions”, the Courier Mail reported.
“TransLink expects all bus drivers to abide by Queensland traffic regulations at all times,” a spokesman for the department said.
