NRLW star Julia Robinson has shared her heartbreak after being harassed by trolls over her appearance at the Dally M Awards last month.
The Brisbane Broncos star, 24, showed off her athletic physique in a yellow dress with strappy cut-outs on rugby league’s night of nights but received vicious online taunts after sharing a photo of her outfit on Instagram.
“It hurts because I feel like I’m a nice person and I know I would never say anything bad to anyone else. It hurts because no one likes to be called names or mean things,” Robinson told NCA NewsWire on Thursday.

“It’s sad to know that it still happens in today’s society, where strong women should be criticized and some people hate seeing a girl with muscles.”
The three-time NRLW premiership player insisted that women of athletic physiques should be commended for their dedication to health and fitness.
Robinson noted that this incident shows the importance of discussing the impact of trolling on mental health.

“You can’t just troll people on social media because you don’t know what’s going on in their lives,” she said.
However, the athlete swore not to give in to the haters, stating: “I am proud of myself and I will not change for anyone.”
Robinson hit out at keyboard warriors earlier in August after being abused on social media for her ripped physique.

“You can’t just troll people on social media because you don’t know what’s going on in their lives,” she said.
It didn’t seem to rattle her, but Robinson was determined to put out the slander.
‘Normally I read comments on social media and never let them influence me; however, I just wanted to say that no one should be ashamed or self-conscious to have muscles,” Robinson wrote on her Instagram story.
‘It shows dedication and hard work. I like my muscles.’
Her response was below a screenshot of some of the worst comments she’d received, including “he’s going to be a good player” and “he’s a scum.”
