After Colin’s name was missing from the cast list, fans feared that his character would not appear in the fourth film at all.

It became clear that Colin’s return was to be a big surprise and that the film executives wanted to keep it a secret at all costs.
A source said: ‘Colin was definitely going to appear in the film, but it had to be kept secret.’
In the final film, 2016’s Bridget Jones’s Baby, Bridget is seen at the memorial service for her other on-again, off-again love, Daniel, played by Hugh. He is presumed dead in a plane crash, but is later found alive.
Fans will have to be patient to find out if Mark is that lucky, or if he just appears in a dream scene.
