A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the fatal hit-and-run death of a pregnant California preschool teacher and her baby.

April Zoglauer, 21, was 27 weeks pregnant when she was hit by the stolen Hyundai in San Jose last Tuesday.

Zoglauer was rushed to the hospital where an emergency C-section was performed.

She died from her injuries, but doctors were able to free the boy, Devontae Aaron Zoglauer. The premature baby died the next day.

The teenage driver, who has not yet been identified, was arrested Saturday — four days after he fled the crash at Blossom Hill Road and Winfield Boulevard. Two other occupants of the car are still on the run.

The police were able to identify the suspect after investigation, the stolen car had not yet been reported at the time of the accident.

A memorial was erected at the Play ‘N’ Learn Preschool in San Jose, where Zoglauer worked.

She had started volunteering there as a teenager, helping with classes to give teachers a break.

Zoglauer was known to help calm children who were trying to adjust to school without parental supervision.

“I’ve never had anyone else who could do that job, not the way she could do it,” said Tammy Lariz, who runs the school.

“She was a blessing… She meant the world to us.”

Friends and family said Zoglauer was obsessed with discussing her future, her baby and a planned trip to Hawaii.

Everyone who worked at Play ‘N’ Learn had watched Zoglauer grow up as a teenager and constantly asked about her pregnancy, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

Lariz started a GoFundMe in the name of Zoglauer and her son Devontae.

“He was deeply loved during his short time here on earth and will be deeply missed,” she wrote.

As of Monday, the GoFundMe has reached its goal of $20,000 to “help cover funeral costs and medical bills and provide some financial stability for her family at this time.”
