- England will not replace Hull and will therefore bring 16 players instead of 17
Josh Hull has withdrawn from England’s Test tour of Pakistan due to a quad injury.
He will not be replaced in what is now a 16-man squad.
The 20-year-old left-arm quick, who picked up the problem on his Test debut against Sri Lanka at The Oval earlier this month, has already been ruled out of the ongoing white-ball series against Australia.
“It comes at an awkward time because we had the white-ball stuff,” he told The Cricketer.
“When you get an opportunity like that, you get into the mix and you want to keep going.

Hull had hoped to earn his second Test cap after recently making his debut against Sri Lanka
He took three Sri Lankan wickets at The Oval, but England were well beaten in that match
‘It has given me a lot to think about where I want to improve to be able to play at that level. It was hopefully the start of a journey.”
The ECB confirmed the story and said the 6ft 8in Hull would ‘continue his recovery’.
It is understood he will instead be involved with England Lions this winter, culminating in a trip to Australia.
Hull bowled 102 balls and claimed three wickets for a total of 91 runs during England’s third Test against Sri Lanka in London, where the tourists won comfortably.
