Bournemouth 0-1 Man United: Casemiro’s acrobatic volley edges Red Devils closer to top-four finish

Bournemouth 0-1 Man United: Casemiro’s acrobatic volley takes the Red Devils to the brink of a top-four finish after hard-fought victory on the south coast

  • Casemiro gave Man United the lead in the ninth minute with an acrobatic volley
  • United had further chances to kill the game but were unable to increase their score
  • They now need just one win from their last two games to seal a top four finish

Manchester United took a big step towards a top four finish by beating Bournemouth 1-0 at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.

United started brightly and took the lead within nine minutes as Casemiro adapted his body brilliantly to acrobatically volley in Christian Eriksen’s through ball. Bournemouth still had a threat though, with Dominic Solanke forcing a sharp stop from David de Gea.

The visitors controlled for most of the second half but were unable to put the game to bed and were late in their debt to their goalkeeper as De Gea made a crucial one-on-one save to disallow substitute Kieffer Moore.
