Boston serial rapist suspect Matthew Nilo holds hands with fiancé Laura Griffin outside court – as it’s revealed that SHE paid his bail

Suspected Boston serial rapist Matthew Nilo left Suffolk Superior Court hand-in-hand with his fiancée after pre-trial hearings where attorneys discussed sharing evidence in the case.

Nilo has pleaded not guilty to seven charges including aggravated rape, kidnapping, indecent assault with intent to rape and sexual assault over an alleged series of attacks that took place in 2007 and 2008.

His fiancée, Laura Griffin, sat next to him throughout the hearing after posting $500,000 of his $5 million bail earlier this year.

Tuesday’s hearing included sharing notices of discovery, the process of sharing evidence during the pretrial phase of the case, it reported WCVB.

Attorneys discussed whether identifying information about individuals named in court documents should be redacted before copies are provided to the suspect.

Nilo wore a gray suit with a blue shirt and tie, while Griffin wears a white turtleneck, plaid pants and a brown jacket and heels.

The New Jersey attorney was initially accused of sexually assaulting four women in the Charlestown, Massachusetts, neighborhood before facing additional charges.

Prosecutors alleged Nilo, a Boston native, attacked four women in the North End in 2007 and 2008 — including two attacks on the same woman just 11 days apart. He was later linked to four more attacks.

One attack on January 14, 2008 occurred in the middle of a snowstorm, WCVB reported, while another occurred on July 4, 2008.

The series of attacks left the neighborhood tense at the time, as police warned women to be vigilant and even carry rape whistles.

Authorities believed the rapes were related and released a composite sketch of the suspect, who appeared to bear a resemblance to Nilo at the time.

He was about 19 to 20 years old at the time. He was working as a cyber claims attorney at insurance company Cowbell when police arrested him on May 30.

Authorities arrested Nilo in an FBI sting in which he was lured from the luxury harborside apartment he shared with his fiancée on the claim that a package too large to fit in the facility’s posh lockers had been delivered.

Law enforcement officials claimed to have linked Nilo to the four attacks in Charlestown with DNA evidence identified through the 23 and Me genealogical database, to which family members voluntarily submitted samples.

After Griffin posted $500,000 for his bail, Nilo was fitted with a GPS tracker and released on the condition that he surrender his passport, have no contact with the victims or witnesses and stay at least 1,000 feet away from Terminal Street.

His attorney, Joseph Cataldo, has previously said his client plans to fight all charges and challenge the constitutionality of the evidence collected by police.

‘Mr. Nilo denies all allegations, including the latest charges,” Cataldo said in a statement. “You can expect both a legal and a factual challenge to the government’s case.”

Nilo’s first alleged victim, Lori Pinkham, spoke exclusively to DailyMail.com and shared her story.

Pinkham admitted she had lost hope that her attacker would ever be caught and said she was in “disbelief and awe” when police came to her home and told her they had identified him.

“He is a very evil person and has used weapons and violence to violently kidnap and rape several women,” she said.

Pinkham could not discuss the details of her own attack, she said, but is willing to testify against Nilo.
