The wife of a millionaire businessman has expressed frustration after an insurance company replaced her stolen Porsche SUV with a humble Subaru.
Blair James, the CEO of faux tan empire Bondi Sands, and his pregnant wife Melanie made headlines last month after their black 2021 Porsche Cayenne GTS was stolen from the driveway of their Melbourne mansion.
On Wednesday, Melanie revealed that things had gone from bad to worse after she got a budget-friendly Subaru Forester as a replacement vehicle from her insurer.
The average price of a new model Subaru Forester SUV is about $40,000, while the Porsche Cayenne GTS costs about $250,000.
Melanie posted to Instagram Stories to complain and shared a photo of her hand resting on the steering wheel of her replacement car, catching a glimpse of her huge diamond engagement ring.

It comes after Melanie and Blair spoke publicly about the terrifying moment thieves broke into their home last month.
The wealthy couple was sleeping indoors when they were awakened by the sound of footsteps running down the hallway.

The thieves found the car keys and took Melanie’s luxury Luis Vuitton handbag and wallet before climbing out a window and driving off in the couple’s Porsche.
“It sounded like little footsteps, almost like a kid running down the hallway,” Blair said 3AW presenter Neil Mitchell.
“It took me a while to realize what was going on. We see there’s no trace of how they got in or where they came out in the beginning, but eventually we found a window.

‘It went pretty quickly. We were of course quite shocked when it happened.’
Blair also described the terrifying ordeal in a series of Instagram stories.
“We heard them run down the hall and get out of bed, by which time they had jumped out the window and started the car,” he posted.
“Then another car stopped and people jumped out of the car and into mine and he sped off. They also stole my bag with my wallet in it. I hate people.’
In another story, Melanie wrote, “Being 21 weeks pregnant doesn’t help!”
The car – which has the number plates MVA 0 – has yet to be recovered.
The theft came a month after the couple announced on social media that they were expecting their first child in October.
